As we previously reported, the famous banner Sri Thenandal Films which is bankrolling the big-budget historical film Sangamithra officially announced Jayam Ravi and Arya would be trying the lead heroes in directing venture Sundar C's - AR Rahman composing the music . The authors, initially wanted to turn the film into a multilingual project, but now the film will be bilingual just a Tamil Telugu.

The creators were lookout for a lead female actress with pan-Indian appeal. Also, on a previous occasion, said the director Sundar was looking for a heroine who is a powerhouse performer, except that good-looking for the titular role.
