Pawan vs Balakrishna, only battle for Sankranthi?
We have barely a month left until we have the biggest film season at the Telugu market. Sankranti season has proven that people are more than happy to accomodate two to three big movies during the season. In 2016, Nagarjuna's Soggade Chinni Nayana became a huge blockbuster with Jr. NTR's Nannaku Prematho becoming a hit. Nandamuri Dictator Balakrishna and Sharwanand's Raja Express also ended up being profitable. In 2017, Khaidi No.150 of Megastar Chiranjeevi became a ruder record while Gautamiputra Satakarni of Nandamuri Balakrishna became a big hit for the actor and Sharwanand scored a blockbuster this time with Shatamanam Bhavathi. Now, the race for Sankranthi 2018 has begun but none of the films that have announced to arrive for the season has shown any progress. The 25th film by Pawan Kalyan, Agnyathavasi and Jai Simha by Nandamuri Balakrishna are just two who announced the date and are ready to appear on January 10 and 12, apparently. The regular shooting of Pawan Kalyan starrer is over and Jai Simha is nearing completion.
All the others like Ravi Teja's Touch Chesi Choodi, Raj Tharun's Rajugaadu have already announced but have not released any other release date updates. Only, Gang Suriya is promoting the film and the team has announced the date for the 12th or the 14th as they are waiting to finish the censorship formalities. In any case, the Telugu industry seems to be giving the advantage to dubbed films this year rather than trying to make good profits during the most successful business season.
